Plagiarizing, Pretrib and Proud as a Peacock!

3 John 1:9 I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not.

Unlike the men in this article, I am giving credit where credit is due; first to the article Pretrib Rapture Dishonesty by Dave MacPherson, and second to the scholarly work done by Herescope. The purpose of this article is to show a clearly identifiable pattern within this group of men who adhere to pretribulation eschatology. A large number of names well known for their foundational role in establishing pretribulational and dispensational teachings are literally at the heart of what I am showing – I am merely connecting a handful of the dots to show conclusive proof of lies propagated for more than a century!

The following are excerpts from Pretrib Rapture Dishonesty where the word “plagiarize” or form of it was used:

John Nelson Darby:
In Sep. 1830 “The Morning Watch” (a journal produced by London preacher Edward Irving and his “Irvingite” followers, some of whom had visited Margaret a few weeks earlier) began repeating her original thoughts and even her wording but gave her no credit – the first plagiarism I’ve found in pretrib history. Darby was still defending posttrib in Dec. 1830.

You’ll learn that Darby wasn’t original on any chief aspect of dispensationalism (but plagiarized the Irvingites); that pretrib was initially based on only OT and NT symbols and not clear Scripture;

Tim LaHaye:
Tim LaHaye’s “The Beginning of the End” (1972) plagiarized Hal Lindsey’s “The Late Great Planet Earth” (1970).

Tim LaHaye’s “No Fear of the Storm” (1992) plagiarized Walvoord’s “The Blessed Hope and the Tribulation” (1976).

Tim LaHaye’s “Understanding the Last Days” (1998) plagiarized Lindsey’s “There’s A New World Coming” (1973).

Charles Ryrie:
Charles Ryrie’s “The Living End” (1976) plagiarized Lindsey’s “The Late Great Planet Earth” (1970) and “There’s A New World Coming” (1973).

John Walvoord:
After John Walvoord’s “The Blessed Hope and the Tribulation” (1976) brutally twisted Robert Gundry’s “The Church and the Tribulation” (1973), Gundry composed and circulated a 35-page open letter to Walvoord which repeatedly charged the Dallas Seminary president with “misrepresentation,” “misrepresentations” (and variations)!

Jerry Falwell, Ed Dobson and Ed Hindson:
“The Fundamentalist Phenomenon” (1981) by Jerry Falwell, Ed Dobson, and Ed Hindson heavily plagiarized George Dollar’s 1973 book “A History of Fundamentalism in America.”

Greg Bahnsen and Kenneth Gentry:
Greg Bahnsen and Kenneth Gentry produced evidence in 1989 that Lindsey’s book “The Road to Holocaust” (1989) plagiarized “Dominion Theology” (1988) by H. Wayne House and Thomas Ice.

David Jeremiah: and C. C. Carlson
David Jeremiah’s and C. C. Carlson’s “Escape the Coming Night” (1990) massively plagiarized Lindsey’s 1973 book “There’s A New World Coming.” (For more info, type in “Thieves’ Marketing” on MSN or Google.)

Paul Lee Tan:
Paul Lee Tan’s “A Pictorial Guide to Bible Prophecy” (1991) plagiarized large amounts of Lindsey’s “The Late Great Planet Earth” (1970).

Chuck Missler and Hal Lindsey:
This was when the Los Angeles Times revealed that “The Magog Factor” (1992) by Hal Lindsey and Chuck Missler was a monstrous plagiarism of Prof. Edwin Yamauchi’s scholarly 1982 work “Foes from the Northern Frontier.”

Hal Lindsey:
In 1996 it was revealed that Lindsey’s “Planet Earth – 2000 A.D.” (1994) had an embarrassing amount of plagiarism of a Texe Marrs book titled “Mystery Mark of the New Age” (1988).

Merrill Unger:
This is the year I discovered that more than 50 pages of Dallas Seminary professor Merrill Unger’s book “Beyond the Crystal Ball” (Moody Press, 1973) constituted a colossal plagiarism of Lindsey’s “The Late Great Planet Earth” (1970).

Jack Van Impe:
A Jack Van Impe article “The Moment After” (2000) plagiarized Grant Jeffrey’s book “Final Warning” (1995).

All of the above is excerpted directly from Pretrib Rapture Dishonesty by Dave MacPherson;  my excerpts are to show the clear pattern of plagiaristic genius of these men! MacPherson’s article goes more in depth exploring the dishonesty of these men with detailed evidence of the pretrib shady past.

Adding to this list is an recent article from Herescope providing 17 detailed exhibits demonstrating the mastery of plagiaristic technique by Chuck Missler, using the material of a deceased New Ager Michael Talbot.

So who deserves the award for the best method of stealing the research of others; using the material of at least two men who are deceased? Who is the most notable of a list of men going back to the beginnings of pretribulation teachings in 1830? Can you guess which of these plagiarists wins the dubious prize?

John Darby, Tim LaHaye, Hal Lindsey, Charles Ryrie, Jerry Falwell, Ed Dobson, Ed Hindson, Greg Bahnsen, Kenneth Gentry, David Jeremiah, C. C. Carlson, Paul Lee Tan, Chuck Missler, Merrill Unger or Jack Van Impe?

MISSLER, pg. 330, Alien Encounters: “The holographic paradigm also explains how our brains can store so many memories in so little space. The brilliant physicist and mathematician John von Neumann, who we met in Chapter 1, once calculated that over the course of the average human lifetime, the brain stores something on the order of 2.8 X 1020 bits of information. (Accepting the traditional estimate of the age of the universe as about ten billion years, that’s 1,000 bits for every second in the entire history of the universe!). This is a staggering amount of information, and brain researchers have long struggled to come up with a mechanism that explains such a vast capability.”

Herescope does a thorough job revealing the plagiarism being sold as God’s truth by MISSLER in his book Alien Encounters. Chuck Missler is passing off stolen NEW AGE teachings as Christian eschatology! More bad fruit from a long list of plagiarizing pretribbers!
