A complete waste of 10 minutes… a sermon void of a Gospel message completely. A boring, droll message from one who is supposed to be one of God’s mouth pieces in the church today!?
One who we are told is supposed to be one of the greatest bringing God’s revival to Charlotte and beyond. Steven Furtick spoke of seeking God’s ‘favor’ through fasting, made it a point that he has a KJV Bible and that the word “favor” is in it more than 70 times -wonder if he read it or used eSword or Online Bible? Hmmm… that was a tough one!

Dare I count how many times he said the word ‘favor’ or repeated himself in the 10 painful minutes of this sermonette? Oh yes, and a chance to harp on Nehemiah with his building or does he mean his Elevation church building and then being criticized? Wonder when I heard that song and dance last? Save your ears 10 minutes of repetitive boring non-relevant idle teaching that at very best has a dribble of truth to be found in it.

Will you find favor through fasting? Perhaps if you are immersed in the Word of God but wasn’t there even a scripture quoted the entire 10 minutes of this sermonette on fasting and praying. Nope not a one… the listener would have no idea what is involved in fasting unless they go and know where to look assuming it is a Christian listening at all. SHAMEFUL FURTICK for all the words you said nothing!

Joe 2:12-15 “Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye [even] to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he [is] gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil. Who knoweth [if] he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; [even] a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God? Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:”

First Mr Fur-Tick (reference to wolf fur and a blood sucking tick), you need to quit fleecing God’s children sucking the life blood out of them, repent and then sanctify yourself from the world! I know that is a lot to ask of someone of such affluence, such wealth and pride. Young man you need to turn your face to God while He may be found! Your stubbornness not to do so is rebellion to God and you walk and talk as the other liars who make light of a Holy God. You want to find REAL FAVOR with the GOD of the Bible here is your first lesson how!

From KJV Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

Here is favor you need – GIVE IT ALL for His Glory for Jesus Christ preaching HIM and not YOURSELF!
Ac 11:20-24 “And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus. And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord. Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch. Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord. For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.”
