A Weapon Against The Christian Paradigm -The Hegelian Dialectic with Postmodern Thinking Deployed

What in Heaven’s name am I talking about you ask!? Well, much of what I will share is nothing new, and it is as old as sin and Satan himself. While I use some big words, I am not using them to intimidate as if I hold some higher intelligence but I believe you need to understand these things as I describe this very old weapon is being used against us… it is no more complicated than Satan’s lies to Eve in the Garden, deception wrapped in new clothes.

We live in a day that any Bible-believing Christian would call a dark day in the end times. Well, this article is not to argue the specifics of Jesus’ physical and bodily return to Earth that I believe will happen according to Acts 1:11 – and I look forward to it! With that discussion set aside, let us move on to the issues at hand today!

The Hegelian Dialectic to start as explained in-depth, first by a respected Bible teacher Dr. Francis Schaeffer,

Hegel’s intricate system puts great emphasis on the centrality of the state and the flow of history. In The Universe Next Door (1976) James W. Sire (1933–) summarizes Frederick Copleston’s (1907–) study of Hegel in Volume 7 of A History of Philosophy (1963). This summary is so succinct that I will quote it, insofar as Copleston’s treatment is too lengthy to quote in full: “According to Hegel, the universe is steadily unfolding and so is man’s understanding of it. No single proposition about reality can truly reflect what is the case. Rather, in the heart of the truth of a given proposition one finds its opposite. This, where recognized, unfolds and stands in opposition to the thesis. Yet there is truth in both thesis and antithesis, and when this is perceived a synthesis is formed and a new proposition states the truth of the newly recognized situation. But this in turn is found to contain its own contradiction and the process goes on ad infinitum. Thus the universe and man’s understanding of it unfolds dialectically. In short the universe with its consciousness—man—evolves.”

The result is that all possible particular positions are indeed relativized. While it is an oversimplification of Hegel’s complete position, this has led to the idea that truth is to be sought in synthesis rather than antithesis. Instead of antithesis (that some things are true and their opposite untrue), truth and moral rightness will be found in the flow of history, a synthesis of them. This concept has not only won on the other side of the Iron Curtain [Communist nations]; it has won on this side as well [here in the United States]. Today not only in philosophy but in politics, government, and individual morality, our generation sees solutions in terms of synthesis and not absolutes. When this happens, truth, as people had always thought of truth, has died.^[1]

Here in the United States, in the year of our Lord 2020, we are witnessing this same ‘revolution’ in thought being forced upon us by radical leftist forces seeking to subvert our freedom of speech and all aspects of our lives in the name of their causes. To them our resistance is futile but they do not know the God we serve… may this serve as notice!

What we are getting from the ‘pundits’ of the Hegelian Dialectic and Postmodernism is a new paradigm where frankly I believe they overstepped so much I can show in a few short sentences that they have themselves twisted into a proverbial pretzel. In the secular institutions (used to be called universities) as part of Doctoral theory, they have presented “Queer Theory” as a valid theory of scientific studies. You, as a doctoral student, must in some cases address its validity! It is as simple as Daniel in the Bible who continued to pray to the True God, even when frowned upon by the king and as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego who refused to bow to the idol. We MUST NEVER bow (or take a knee) but by the grace of Almighty God oppose their lies by means of scripture.

This is what it means to be a “Last Days Saint,” a believer in Jesus Christ our Savior, and Most High God by way of His Holy Spirit! This is what it really can mean in casting down some of Satan’s strongholds even in an evil day! As long as we have breath, a pen to write, a device to type on wherever we are – stand up and be counted for Jesus! God’s Word needs no defending, it is its own defense we only must get it out there! While I may present some, “high-brow” teachings such as the Hegelian Dialectic and Postmodernism – I do so to open your eyes to awaken you, to how bad it is in all our public schools and universities today. The evil to come in the next generation will be worse than this one if left unopposed and unexposed! Postmodernism by its own definition is a ‘scientific revolution’ it seeks to deconstruct Christianity and other faiths, it seeks to lift up what we call evil as good, and condemn God’s grace, creation, and salvation from sin as evil!

For the Christian perspective look to Romans chapter 1, here I cite Dr. Francis Schaeffer again showing he was a man ahead of his time! His words are truthfully prophetic because we merely turn on the news to see what noxious weeds are in a full evil ugly bloom today – choking the life out of the church if it were possible:

“So Paul continues in 1:21 and 22, … Men have become vain in their reasoning, their hearts have been darkened, and they have become foolishly foolish—holding positions in the very face of what exists. Men then are under God’s judgment, not because God has scattered them like a handful of gravel, but because He has treated them as He created them—as significant. Man’s own choices have led men where they are. In their own way all men are like the 1960 hippie who said, “Well, I don’t care what happens to the next generation. I will take LSD even if it does split the chromosomes. I care only for the moment.” In age after age men who had the truth have deliberately thrown it away. The world is what it is, not as a result of the cruelty of God to man, but of the cruelty of man to man.

In Romans 1:24 we read, “Wherefore, God gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their bodies between themselves.” Men in our own sociologically and psychologically oriented age have all kinds of explanations for the moral problems of man. But according to the Bible, it is not moral declension that causes doctrinal declension; it is just the opposite. Turning away from the truth—that which is cognitive, that which may be known about God—produces moral declension. The modern artists, the dramatists, and the novelists show how far modern man has turned away into moral byroads. The Bible tells us the cause: men who knew the truth turned away; they are followed by men who do not know the truth, and this results in all sorts of moral turning aside.

Paul repeats this concept three times, in 1:23–24, 25–27, and from 28 on. It seems to me he is saying, “Notice it, and notice it well. You haven’t misread. Don’t just read it lightly, because I’m going to say it three times so that you’ll understand that you read it correctly in the first place. It’s because men turn away from God that moral problems arise.”^[2]”

It is ugly “true truth” as the fine doctor said! Yes, you can argue this has been going on a long time but not in the magnitude or with the methodology we are witnessing today. The idea of postmodern thought to the exclusion of traditional thoughts of what is right or wrong, good or evil has been wiped away. All have turned from the truth in higher education in the USA and many other recognized universities.

To stand against them you are now labeled as the fanatic or lunatic. For them, they believe the synthesis/ anti-synthesis of Hegel, and of Marxist thought – a cognitive move to believe what is false will somehow, someway bring sense to the nonsensical world we live in! It is the very lifeblood of postmodernism. You can argue logically that 1 + 1 is not equal to 3, that by science with our chromosomes there is only male or female but to do so is to be labeled a bigot or worse. It is actually dangerous to your career to question these ‘authorities’ who will quickly label you part of a hate group, or in many instances drawing in the ire of radicals who will harm property or person because of your failure to comply. It comes into sharp focus that the ideas of Karl Marx have found a home in the hearts and minds of many of our youth, all the way to college age. What monstrous hate is being spawned in the minds of our youth thanks to these Hegelian leftist teachers and what evils are yet to come less we boldly speak out!

Postmodernists have no love of Christians and teach –

The Christian religion is deconstructed for the following reasons:

• We believe in a supreme God who created all
• We believe there are absolutes good versus evil, light versus darkness, true versus false
• We believe in eternal life in Christ Jesus as Lord
• We believe in the power of prayer – the supernatural
• We believe in true science as God created man or woman there is no in between, there are only two sexes – period!
• We believe in moral absolutes in accordance with Biblical teachings especially that marriage is exclusively between one man and one woman
• We believe that Jesus will one day return physically to this corrupt Earth to gather His Bride the Church to Heaven
• We believe that same Jesus will execute the wrath of God against all ungodliness and melt this Earth in a fervent heat
• We believe we will reign with God in a new Heaven and Earth for eternity future!

We Christians stand against everything the postmodernist is for, and if they don’t already hate us they will when they understand who Jesus is that we preach! Too much out their today calls itself Christian, but as with others I have exposed on Truth with Snares I show many of the ‘goats’ who are Christian in name only! Pastor Charles Haddon Spurgeon had much to say in the message he shared called “Self Delusion”

Yet, I do not discover in the parable that there were more sheep than goats. I find, at any rate, that the goats did make up a very considerable multitude! And though they expected to receive the benediction with the blessed, He said, “Depart from Me, you cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.” Remember, also, another parable of our Savior, where the sower went forth to sow his seed. Here there were three places where the seed fell in vain and only one where it brought forth fruit! And, out of the three where it fell in vain, there were two that must be numbered with professors. In the one case, it fell where the thorns sprang up and choked it—there was religion but worldliness killed it! In the next, it fell where there was not much depth of earth; and the Master tells us that there are some who hear the Word, and with joy receive it; but when persecution comes by-and-by, they are offended, for there was never a deep work in their inner spirit. Tremble, my hearers, as many of you as have received the Word with joy and gladness, lest you should be found to have had no depth of earth and so, by-and-by, the good things which have blossomed and budded in you should perish before the burning sun of persecution! Will Jesus find you waiting? Will you be able to stand firm to the end in this tribulation of our souls?

A little closer to these days on August 3, 2006, Pastor Ken Silva of Apprising Ministries said this:  JESUS SPEAKS ON POSTMODERNISM in Current Issues, Devotions, Emergent Church

One of the core doctrines of the Emergent Church is the philosophy of alleged postmodernism with its assertion that truth cannot be known with certainty. But here is what the Lord says of His true sheep:

“I have revealed You to those whom You gave me out of the world. They were Yours; You gave them to Me and they have obeyed Your Word. Now they know that everything You have given Me comes from You. For I gave them the Words You gave Me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from You, and they believed that You sent Me.” (John 17:6-8)

“Therefore, from Christ’s own language, we have the most satisfactory and solemn cause to believe that the delusion of many may continue even to the last. The blindness of the self-deceiver may continue until he finds himself in the tenfold night of eternal perdition.” CHS

You may see yourself as Heaven bound, a great “Social Justice Warrior” for Christ but you too have been deceived into one of the oldest lies thinking your deeds somehow make you worthy to be named of Christ in Heaven – but they do not! So many false teachers and false professions of faith today from well-meaning people who haven’t the faintest idea of the true Gospel of Jesus Christ! If you ‘chose’ you did it in your strength! God must choose you and not the other way around! If you did not know sorrow for your sin, you cannot be in Christ! If Christ by way of the Holy Spirit, did not bring you to repent of your sins – you are no different from these godless postmodernists!

Anarchists may deny it but when they hear these words their hearts are aflame in hatred! It is by God that you come to all matters of life, death, and judgment because His ways are true and all of their ways are lies! The anarchists are fools who would deny the Deity of Christ and our Father in Heaven and especially the Holy Spirit WHO convicts the heart of the sinner unto repentance giving birth in our dead hearts to saving faith in Christ Jesus who died for our wrongdoings (sins).

So many today need a further point of reference to the Gospel of Christ-like the pagans of old they had their gods but no idea of a True Creator God of All! Let it be God who grabs them by their nose piercings or whatever else enslaves them to their sins! No one living is beyond the power of God to redeem! Let the word go out like a light in this darkening world!

Do you not have concerns or troubles in your mind causing you not to become involved in the world today or some church that claims to have what your heart desires? So many counterfeits! How are you to tell? So many results-oriented churches saying, look what we are doing for the community, or we are so inclusive, or look at our work overseas and so on! If it is not done in Christ, you might as well not be doing it at all!

So many are self-deluded thinking they walk the walk, talk the talk but yet their hearts are dark! So many saying, ‘Look at me’ yet are dead inside! IS THAT YOU READER!?

Matthew 7:21-23   Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Luke 13:25  When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:

 The true postmodernist/anarchist is his/her own anti-Christ! You can have it your way or try to till the day you die but then comes judgment! There are NO second chances in this life except the one Christ offers us who would believe Him. Once the door of this life is shut it is too late!

So many who call on the name of Christ today, — listen up to all you ‘doom and gloomers’ – you know who you are! So many already thinking Christ should have returned already! CONSIDER FOR ONE SECOND YOU ARE WRONG! How many of you have resisted unto the shedding of blood for the cause of Christ? Because our nation has some struggles in 2020, diseases are nothing new and so much as you will see are overblown and politicized! So much of the Hegelian stuff going on is part of the Postmodernist’s mantra to cause crises and more crises to cause conflicts between the people of this nation and also part of the Communist Manifesto! Are you so blind to think the USA couldn’t be coopted to be made into the USSA? Wake up! If you love the freedoms we have in this country, stand as the Apostle Paul and be counted! Are you deaf, dumb, and blind!?

It is not when this world is in a time of ‘gloom and doom’ that Christ returns but in time as in the days of Noah when they thought everything was wonderful, a time of what they see as ‘peace and safety’ and they want for nothing – TODAY IS NOT THAT DAY! At least not yet…

Now is the time to stand Christian! Now is the time to shine as never before! As an application to what I am saying,

1 Thessalonians 5:1-6  But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2  For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3  For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4  But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 5  Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as [do] others; but let us watch and be sober.
