On Your Knees While Standing ‘On Your Feet.’

What is greatness? What is ‘true’ leadership?

What the world calls great, God calls pride.
What the world calls leadership is most often sheer arrogance.

Unless a man humbles himself—thinking of his neighbors before himself, becoming a willing servant to the will of his Creator in Heaven, seeing himself as lower than a worm—on his knees in his heart, gazing upward to Heaven and pleading for mercy first, considering himself worthy in no way, in no shape or form, of being great or a leader—then, in the eyes of God, he can be made great.

God raises the humble. He endows them with His Spirit and makes them great. Leadership follows, even when they do not seek it and may feel unworthy.

True leaders remain on their knees even while standing ‘on their feet.’ In their minds, they are often troubled by the thought that they might say the wrong words. But once filled with the Holy Spirit, they overcome their fearful trembling and speak with boldness the full counsel of God—not of themselves, but of Christ who saved them and is far mightier than they!

Even in our everyday niches—whether in service or management—you are called to lead, children of the High God and King! You are princes and princesses—royal blood flows through your very being! Why? Because it is God who does the choosing. Sometimes we cannot reason why He chose us; we simply accept His great gift and share it with the lost around us.

For the Christian, it is not enough to try and possibly fail. Our lives are a testimony to those around us. Don’t worry about perceived failures—success lies in the attempts when your heart belongs to God! Jesus strengthens you; lean on Him!

We are not perfect, but He is. Let His love, grace, and mercy be seen in you, through you, and by you. Trembling and fearful when speaking? So are your brothers and sisters!

Be awestruck instead of dumbstruck and silent!

Speak aloud, speak in whatever way you can—and let only God silence you. Pray!
