Am I Alone Feeling This Way?

So here I am at the end of my day or the beginning,
What does it matter, I ask myself?
Day in and day out, the job may even be going well,
Or I recall when I was young in school, looking forward to growing up,
And here I am! Wow — I think I’ve come so far in my career. 
Why am I here today, questioning it all?

I’m just some working stiff, a cog in the daily grind,
answering to the boss and doing the job… whatever that may be,
another username in the corporate digital machine.  But why am I here doing this work?

What is it all for? Oh, looking forward to my long-earned retirement in just a few years,
But what is that except some good times (I hope) before I, umm… die!?
Before I’m deleted and fade into digital oblivion!?

What hope is there in this crazy world for something meaningful?
Why do I live just to die!? What is the point of existence with such a meaningless beginning?
And now looking to the end of my days!?
Oh, the legacy you leave behind, they say,
So you can be remembered by your loved ones,
Children, grandchildren, and beyond, such fond memories you leave behind,
But YOU are not here! Oh, they say you will be looking down as they live their lives, living vicariously through them.
How is that so? WHO has ever done such a thing or empirically proven this is true?

Why am I here and questioning everything?
Why do I feel such emptiness, and why is my heart this dark, empty hole?
Why do I dread leaving these earthly bonds and weep bitterly in my soul!?

Where is there hope? Where is there continued life? How can this be all there is?
Am I the only one in the whole wide Universe asking this question?
I feel I am at the precipice of a great cavern, and one wrong step, and it will be done!

What awaits in that darkness I call death if there is NO GOD!?

May my thoughts touch another one today who will see – I, too, have explored the pits of despair; I have had loss, and even great loss of late, where loved ones and dear friends have departed this Earth.

Why am I here? I am here to be a tiny light in great darkness!
Why are you here – indeed! For me to share the Light!
There is something more to this life than to live to die,
There is a legacy that lasts that you can leave behind that matters here and for eternity!

Oh, the darkness is not your old friend! There lies the enemy!

Come with me and see! Come away, my newfound friend! Come and learn to be!
This life is temporal, and yes, that you see, but there is something more than this!
You argue and thrash against these thoughts most of your life, then along comes me,
Well, is that a coincidence or was it meant to be?
Not that I am special, but maybe now I am… but only because God has chosen me,
And now that the light of Christ’s Spirit is using me,
To show you the path and the way to eternity!
Too much to be by chance, too many bends and twists in the road of life to predict today,
Much less tomorrow!

Live and be merry today because tomorrow…some tomorrow you will die!?

Uncertainty or Surety – what will it be!?

Die and be lost and forgotten from existence, or will you dare to hope for more?
Faith in God is not the crutch of a weak, feeble mind,
Faith is a gift from God on high.

Do not let your intellect trip you up,
Do not, in the face of such great evidence beyond my words, be denied!
Even the greatest minds of this Earth recognized something more than themselves,
Not in some fictitious ‘multiverse’ from some Sci-fi beyond this universe we see!

It is blind faith to believe this life is all there is,
It is a dark place to be without the God of all eternity!

Today I talk to you, friend, as a fellow human being,
There is nothing innate or perfect in me to make me worthy of such grace… but here I live!

Why am I here if not to lead others in darkness to the Light,
But only as I followed the light that led me out of my despair.

The greatest minds of this tiny world called Earth recognize (if they are honest),
This is an impossibility by chance of life!

Even men like Einstein, who spent their lives studying the universe, ended up saying it looks less like random chance and more like a well-made puzzle—something ordered, something that points beyond itself.

While Einstein and others like him did not acknowledge the Creator of the Universe for who HE is, they recognized there was more than meets our feeble eyes and minds! Is there another argument for the God who is? Yes, indeed! There is but one way all of this Universe works, in the Hands of our Creator God – whether you recognize Him today or not, I tell you, one day, one Blessed Day or one cursed day, you will!

Argue as you must, but your argument is not with me. If the greatest in this world cannot speak something into existence from nothing, your faith is in vain. I believe in one God and His Son, Jesus Christ, by His Holy Spirit. It is my prayer that I speak honestly to any heart and mind reading this – that you, too, may be found in Christ and know the salvation that comes from God! Science fiction, for all its fanciful imagination, cannot explain or fathom the unimaginable depths of space itself. So many of its writers rely on mystical or metaphysical thinking to pass through the unpassable walls of the dimensions we see and live in. Time is inescapable in our existence, and all of us here are its slaves – unless freed by something from outside! Only God, who is outside of time, can truly free us from our fleshy bonds, and if you do not turn to Christ and all He stands for… you will find what awaits you most unpleasant!

If Jesus can lift you up and save you, why do you resist?
Why do you let your pride, ego, and arrogance keep your body rooted here?
There is so much more to life – look to those stars again, you dreamer!
Look and realize how very small you are!
How insignificant, how minuscule, not even a mere speck that flies into your eye compares.
Who is a man or a woman without a Creator who truly cares?

I am not alone in this Universe, and neither are you! The One who made the stars is not silent, and He has already stepped into our darkness.

Reflect on this if you’re still uncertain: you are nothing without Him. Why do you think He sent His Son? We are completely lost without a guide to lead us out of darkness. You cannot hope to find the Way without Christ.

There is a Gospel that points to the only way, which is through Him and Him alone. Many of the religions of this world already point to Jesus; why not listen to Him when Jesus said in John 14:1-7,

“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.  In my Father’s house are many mansions: if [it were] not [so], I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, [there] ye may be also.  And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.”
