TOLERANCE – The modern redefinition of this word is; to completely accept and support whatever the current cause is (regardless of your personal beliefs and standards) or be labeled intolerant hatemongers. The true definition of tolerance: to hold oneself up against, bear with, endure, forbear, suffer. This present day we live in seems to be moving beyond true tolerance in order to enter into a stage in which acceptance is mandatory and made law or consequences will be imposed. Actually, that mostly seems to apply to fundamental Christians standing firm on God’s principles instead of man’s. True Christians do their best to obey God’s principles and separate from the world’s rebellion of them. The world’s retribution, justified in their mind, is to lash back through accusations of discrimination, intolerance, bullying etc., all the while playing the victim and turning their distorted view of tolerance into a sympathetic cause for support. Jesus is the best example of true tolerance.
Hebrews 12:2, 3 “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.”
Total and complete acceptance? No!
Offense of God’s principles is sin!
Listening to the world will surely throw
Even the mature Christian into a spin.
Refuse to cave in to worldly pressure,
Accept only the pure things of God.
Neutrality simply allows things to fester;
Critique the facts and discern the fraud.
Establishing truth is a fundamental gesture.
