What We Are About – 2 Timothy 2:24-3:7

Abiding in Christ Exposing the Snares of Devils and some of the Lies  -

“And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” 2 Timothy 2:24-3:7 KJV

This site is a continuation of the Beardsley Ministry and revitalization of the more historical documents compiled by a good brother in Christ to me for Biblical Discernment Ministries both sites founded in 1997. For me this is one of the ways I am now reaching out as a missionary and evangelist to individual reader and to the churches serious about following Christ in a pattern of sound doctrine.

This site is not an open invitation to our critics to use as a sounding board for their complaints but we will moderate at our will what discussion we can that we believe a value to our readers.

Our hope is it will continue through the compilation of documents and research from the Beardsley Ministry and Biblical Discernment Ministry websites, together with more current events, and links with our friends to show the Church has entered apostasy as never seen before – not a time of Laodicea but of Sardis! Laodicea by name indicates there is still some lukewarm life inside – a great many popular churches are dead churches devoid of Biblical Christianity and only a remnant remain! Revelation 3:4.

After browsing through the BDM and the Beardsley Ministry site and reading a number of your articles, it is clearly your objective to expose and warn Christians of false teachings and ministers found in churches and media. For the most part, I agree with the people you call out for bad doctrine, but I was surprised to notice a few names on your list of men that I appreciate such as R. C. Sproul, whom I believe to be doctrinally sound. Of course none of us has EVERYTHING exactly correct – I’m sure every Christian when he gets to heaven will discover he had some things wrong, because while God’s Word is certainly inerrant, we are just as certainly errant human beings.

Amongst all the warnings and criticism, I am finding it hard to identify how you allign yourself doctrinally and who you can whole-heartedly recommend. With that in mind, could you mention a few preachers or writers whom you would recommend? I see that you endorse Spurgeon. Do you value the Puritan writers – Bunyan, Owen, Edwards? Do you approve of Jerry Bridges? A.W. Pink? James R. White? Would like your comments on these men.

Thanks for what your trying to do and may God use it for His glory and for the good of His Church!

Perhaps as time allows I will say more on the others and I agree no one is perfect except Jesus!
